CASE STUDIES

An out-of-this world PR success story

Bennett & Partners were among the first occupants of Apollo Office Court, an innovative, architect-designed commercial development in Buckingham, UK.

The developers of the site, Apollo Business Parks occupy a neighbouring office. Early in our occupancy in 2008, we struck up a relationship which resulted in our being appointed to help the client to attract purchasers or tenants for unoccupied office units. The prevailing market conditions were not favourable at the time, due to the global economic climate. Clearly, a big idea was required to gain interest in the development amongst the local business and media communities.

Contact was made with Apollo 16 Astronaut Charlie Duke, one of only twelve men to have walked on the moon. He was invited to preside over an official opening ceremony for the development, involving a buffet lunch and a presentation of his career as an astronaut.
Charlie graciously agreed to attend and the event and was organised around his visit.
We provided PR and communications support for the event, which was a great success. Charlie made a fascinating presentation to over fifty attendees including local estate agents, press and local government.

Apollo Business Parks gained prime coverage in key local press and most of the remaining units at the development have now been occupied - many as a direct result of contact gained during the campaign.

Our involvement in this project covered:
•  Press and PR
•  Event support, including invitation, Powerpoint presentation, photography
•  Design and installation of permanent, slate-mounted outdoor commemorative plinth
